IMiS Production Options
- IMiS/Scan supports:
- Some
300 different scanners (simplex and duplex with video
or SCSI interfaces)
- JBIG and CCITT/ITU G4 compression
- all major graphics
file formats (TIFF, JPEG, GIF, PCX, BMP,.... etc)
- and
most any TWAIN compatible scanner (but ISIS is recommended)
- With
IMiS/Scan, users can create & store images
four different ways:
- like an ordinary .TIFF (or
PDF) attachment into Notes document
- as an ODMA
attachment on Domino.Doc server
- as a link to an object,
stored on IMiS/ARC server (or LN:DI MSS server)
- as
a link to a file, stored somewhere on file server.
- IMiS/Scan Plus provides barcode
recognition and some additional image processing functions
(like automatic
deskew and image manipulation).
- IMiS/View
has almost the same functionality as IMiS/Scan (without
scanner control functions)
- IMiS/OCR - Optical Character
Recognition is a process which replaces “manual” data
entry. OCR can be performed for the whole document or,
we can
select
only certain sections or parts of the document.
- IMiS/Net provides access to images stored on IMiS/ARC
or LN:DI MSS server or somewhere else on file system/file
server via Internet browser on OS/2, Linux, MacOS or Windows
workstation without IMiS/View or even without Notes Client
at all. All you need to have on the client side is an image
viewer that is able to handle standard TIFF G4 (multipage)
or PDF files.
IMiS/Net runs on Domino Server on NT and linux
operating system.
- IMiS/OCR Server runs as a stand-alone
.exe on Windows platform. It works as batch services. Users
just needs
to send an Email with .tif(s) as an attachment(s) to
the server and they are getting results back to his/her
mailbox. It's also possible to set IMiS/OCR Server
to monitor specific Notes database, immediately process
every new scanned documents.
- IMiS/OCR Client. This module
was developed for clients that don’t need IMiS/OCR
Server... in case, that some customer needs to have only
one or two workstations
with OCR functionality. While OCR Server is running
in so called batch mode, IMiS/OCR Client works in
on-line mode which means, that an user have to wait until
OCR
won't finish its task.
- IMiS/ICR Server & IMiS/ICR Client provides handprint
recognition and presents the main "engine" for
forms processing applications. SRC.SI worked on a
project for Slovenian Ministry of Finance, Tax Department.
The goal was to provide a system that will recognize
about 70.000 forms every month. Till now, more than
120 financial experts work on data-entry up to 5
working
days. With IMiS solution (parallel processing on
ten workstations) everything could be done in 24
hours.
- IMiS/ARC Server provides a substitute
for LN:DI MSS as a hierarchical storage management (HSM)
system.
As a part of IMiS/ARC, we'll provide support for
magneto-optical
devices, supporting almost all jukeboxes and MO units
from major vendors. For customers who wants to replace
LN:DI MSS with IMiS/ARC, we do provide migration tools.
- IMiS/Avalanche: The IMiS/Avalanche
allows users to distribute scanned images to different
storages based on job settings.
Currently only image formats are supported. Two
main "storages" are
Domino application and Domino.Doc server.
- IMiS/BatchScan: With this batch scanning
utility user can scan an arbitrary group of pages into
a single or multi-page document
with customable batch profiles. IMiS/BatchScan
supports scanning with the following separators: fixed
number
of pages, blank page and barcode separator. It
also offers blank page removal option and several different
image processing filters. Batch job info is saved
into an XML description file that can be also used
with IMiS/Avalanche.
