Software Development Manager

Reports to: Director of Product Development

Priorities:

Responsibilities:

Direct development effort and priorities

Coach, mentor and develop staff

Monitor and measure productivity

Schedule and run key staff meetings

  • Or work with staff on meeting times and frequency

Performance reviews and compensation

Hiring and growing staff

Sustaining positive staff morale

Foster innovation of new technology and tools

Address escalated technical issues

  • Including customer discussions

Back up the support staff as needed

Collaborate with the design and product management

  • Assist in creating and tracking the “Dev Calendar”

Assist with technical aspects of RFPs or sales issues

Be hands on in general, and dig in on technical and development challenges and solutions

Direct the transition of product code to the new technical stack

  • Java
  • Serverless
  • g. re-writing processes rather than just modifying

Support the annual budgeting process with staffing plans, training plans etc.
